As the tourism season begins this year, two new treehouses will be available to vacationers at the JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) nature park glamping from mid-March. The houses are built of wood and installed several meters above the ground in the tall Tērvete pine trees.
The existing five treehouses, named after tree species – Rowan, Maple, Birch, Oak, and Pine – will be joined by two new treehouses, named Juniper and Willow, in the new season. The names for the new houses were chosen after considering the suggestions of the glamping site’s Facebook followers.
The construction of the new houses began in the summer of 2024, and, unlike the previous ones, the new ones were built not by an external service provider but by LVM construction specialists, carrying out the work carefully, thoroughly, and paying attention to every single detail. Both houses are built of wood - 12 m3 of wood and 75 m2 of aspen shingle material in three layers were used for the construction of each house.
The glamping will now have seven tree houses and six underground houses available to visitors, providing beds for a total of 52 guests. Two of the underground houses are adapted for people with mobility impairments.
The LVM Nature Park glamping was opened in the fall of 2021, expanding the territory of the popular Latvian State Forest Nature Park in Tērvete, letting the visitors extend their visit to Tērvete and devote two days to visiting the park.
The glamping is located in a beautiful pine forest on the shore of the Tērvete Reservoir, so vacationers have ample recreational opportunities: you can fish, go on a boat trip, relax on the water on a SUP board or water bike, or ride a bicycle around the nearby area.
Each glamping house in the LVM Nature Park is suitable for four people. The houses have a separate bedroom with a double bed. In addition to the bedroom in the tree houses, comfortable sleeping places for two more people have been created in the attic, while the underground houses have a double sofa bed.
The houses are fully equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Electric heating is available to ensure a comfortable temperature, the kitchen area is equipped with dishes, cutlery, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, an induction cooker, and utensils for cooking, and there is also an outdoor grill near each house. Due to their construction, mobile networks and mobile data do not work in the underground houses.
Guests can stay overnight at the Glamping House in the LVM Nature Park with their pets.
